Here are the steps to configure Mail on Mac Yosemite 10.10:

  1. Go to System Preferences, Internet Accounts. Choose Add Other Mail Account
  2. Provide your Full Name, Email Address and Password. Then click Create.
  3. The email client will try to auto-discover your settings but fail and tells you that "Account must be manually configured". Click Next to continue.

  4. Choose IMAP and your enter your Incoming Mail Server Info. Click Next to continue.
    IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your User Name is your complete Email Address i.e. user@yourdomain.com and not just "user".

  5. If it prompts you to Verify Certificate and warns you about "identity cannot be verified", you can ignore it by pressing Connect button.
  6. Finally, your enter your Outgoing Mail Server Info. Click Create to save your settings.
    IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your User Name is your complete Email Address i.e. user@yourdomain.com and not just "user".
